I use this recipe for sandwich bread, but I tried it with rolls and they are AMAZING!

Ingredients | Instructions |

| Step 1 Add active dry yeast, water, and honey to the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix with a fork to combine ingredients. Once yeast begins to bloom (looks like fireworks), proceed to next step. |
| Step 2 In the same bowl, add flour and salt. Use the dough hook to knead the ingredients until a soft ball of dough forms. The sides of the bowl should be clean and the dough should not be sticky. Add a small amount of flour if dough is too sticky. |
| Step 3 Add olive oil to a large bowl and use a paper towel to grease the entire inside of the bowl. |
| Step 4 Transfer dough ball to greased bowl, cover tightly with cling wrap, then top with a kitchen towel. Allow to rise in a warm place for 1 hour. |
| Step 5 Lightly flour a clean surface (I use the countertop). Turn dough onto surface. Evenly cut dough with a dough cutter into 12 pieces. Get them as close to the same size as possible. |
| Step 6 Use your hand in a claw to roll each dough section into a small ball. |
| Step 7 Butter a 9x13 inch glass baking dish and place the dough balls in. They should just barely touch each other. Cover with a clean dish towel and let rise for 20 minutes. |
Step 8 While the dough rises, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 9 Whisk together one egg and 1 tablespoon of water. With a basting brush, brush the egg wash onto each roll.
Step 10 Bake rolls for 20 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Turn out immediately onto a cooling rack. Serve immediately or store in a sealed container. Enjoy! |
